Writing about autism

As a mother and grandmother, I found the research for this report both moving and disheartening. At the same time, a growing focus on the issue means that more families are getting the help and support they need. (The articles I wrote are identified with a sticky note.)Autism Speaks 2010

Christie Simmons

I loved interviewing Christie Simmons last year for our Good Living series in the Globe and Mail: a writer, mother, wife and communications consultant, she was about to realize her life-long dream of releasing a CD. She has played and sung with Celtic and blue grass bands, and both influences are present in her music.

I can’t wait to get my hands on her CD, Winnie’s Song, which is now available. But in the meantime, she’s made some of the tracks available here: http://www.myspace.com/christiejsimmons

I’m listening now, and it makes me very happy.

Here’s the article I wrote about Christie’s endeavour: christie-simmons-nov409-2

Globe and Mail Mortgage report

Greetings!

I was the managing editor on this report; the articles I also wrote are marked with a yellow sticky note.
